WFF was held at the crossroad of low carbon economy and post financial crisis. With the principle of promoting the coordination and cooperation among the nations, the conference was pushed further from "Sino-US-European Wood Flooring Summit" to deepen the understanding and cooperation among the government, associations and companies in a high level communication platform across the nations and regions. Compared to its precedents, the WFF expands horizontally by having more representatives from the developing countries and emerging markets and extends vertically to cover the whole industry chain. Themed as "Low Carbon and Global Opportunities", the conference discussed the key issues of wood flooring industry in trade, standards, technology, product, marketing, and so on.

Government support
WFF is organized by China National Forest Products Industry Association (CNFPIA),Chinese Academy of Forestry, and hosted by Flooring Board Special Committee of CNFPIA, Research Institute of Wood Industry and VNU Exhibitions Asia. WFF also gets officially support from State Forestry Administration and Shanghai Municipal Government.

The conference has the honor to have Mr. Wang Zhibao, the former State Forestry Administration, P.R.China, Mr. Ding Qinhua, the chief engineer of Shanghai Forestry Bureau and Mr. Zhang Shougong, the director of Chinese Academy of Forestry make the opening speech. They commended the influence of WFF to promote the industry networking worldwide as well as forward the Chinese wood flooring industry, and think of it as the milestone for the world wood flooring industry.

The industry development and especially the low carbon industry need the support from government. The positive attitude and strong support from the Chinese government at this conference shows a solid foundation for all the flooring professionals to explore the massive opportunities in this country. Through this platform, the government was also able to interact with the industry people in order to make better policies.
